Ah, yes, "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus: The Animated Series".
I feared with the collapse of Geneon back in '07 that this show among others would fade into obscurity, and I wasn't about to pay a hundred bucks for the thin box set they had just put out. Two years and a change of licensors later, I finally found it at Hastings last week while two Best Buys had failed me. (There's one BB gift card I'm not spending on anime.)
I found this show on the Encore channels back in the summer of '04, and it really got me out of an anime funk I was in back then. I thought the interplanetary-battle-of-the-sexes angle was a unique idea, and it had some really funny moments between Hibiki and Dita as well as a few intense battles and an impressive color job.
Yes, it does remind me of Tenchi Muyo, but that's why I like it. I enjoy girl-chases-guy love comedies.
