Toon Zone Talkback - "Transformers Cybertron" Best Transformers in a Decade

QFT.

I hated Beast Wars throughout the whole first season because I'd formed an opinion based on a couple mediocre episodes and I was just too reluctant to acknowledge any change to my beloved G1 character namesakes.

I ended up loving the series because I was too much a TF addict to keep ignoring that there was a new TV series and new toys on the market. Plus, it was a quality production, and superior to the G1 TV series (i.e. 3-season toy commercial) on so many levels.

To say that Beast Machines started off with a bang is an understatement. And it was yet another high-quality production. And as I said earlier, if you choose to view the series as a stand-alone story, well outside of the TF continuity, it can be very entertaining...and especially a treat for fans of animated dramas. I disliked the character changes, and hated even the suggestion that Cybertron had organic origins (Botanica is the biggest WTF character in all of TF history), and I loathed how the series ended. But it was still one heckuva ride all the way through.

Totally agree with your assessment of BM. In spite of my gripes with the series, I actually bought the DVD and enjoyed it a couple more times through afterwards. (Granted, I waited until I found a pre-owned copy for only $10, but still...)

Getting back to topic, I'm still willing to give Cybertron another chance, since my own opinion on the show was formed from watching a handful of random episodes. Perhaps if I watched the whole thing through from start to finish, I might change my opinion.

There were things I actually liked about Cybertron, but the things I didn't like about it far outweighed what was good about it for me. And there were too many annoyingly repetitious show elements that made the show just too hard for me to watch.
