The lengthy digression at the end began with, "This isn't going into the interview, but..." and ended with, "You know, I'm going to have to figure out how to get as much of this in the final draft as I can" because it was interesting. To me, at least.

I would never use such rude language when speaking to a guest, especially an interviewed guest. I felt the urge to stop reading the interview after reading the second quotation with the expletive censored, but since I was too interested to miss any good details, I went to the end of the interview and read upward instead. I understand these parts were not meant to be published online, but interviewers should treat their guests like visitors or close relatives in their homes, as these folks may not like conversations with rude language.

It's called having a rapport with people. Engaging with others in an intelligent but comfortably casual manner in order to further communication that you wouldn't achieve if you were acting snooty and stilted.
