Toon Zone Talkback - Third "Simpsons" CD Soundtrack Coming on 9/18/07

I'll definitely be giving this a pass.

With the exception of "Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl", there isn't a decent song in the bunch. Worse still, no instrumentals like on the first two CDs.

It's also missing "Bad Cops", "There Is a Man" (the song Smithers sang to Burns), "Just Don't Look", "O Whacking Day", "Hey Big Spender/Table Five", "Stand By Your Manager", and a few other shorter ones I wish would've been included. But it does indeed seem especially odd that "Adults/Kids" was omitted, because that's an episode from the last nine seasons, which this CD is focused on.

I'm guessing there were legal issues with whoever owns the rights to the music in "Bye Bye Birdie". They've mentioned on a few DVD commentaries that there are new laws that require them to distance their song parodies even further from their source material, and maybe this one doesn't fit the bill.

What can I say, I?ve always loved the music in The Simpsons. I got my copy today and it?s quite entertaining.
However, I don?t like is the tinny quality to some of the dialogue tracks. I almost went deaf when Bart yelled "Satan, eat my shorts" at the beginning of Testify. Also, there are vocal bits missing, for instance Rod and Todd saying "That?s us, hooray" in "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders."

We get the whole thing. "Oh, my feet are inside me!"

This is the 6th CD

Well I bought the CD. While I think the song roster is a little weaker than the first two CDs, there are still some good ones in here. However, it's still missing quite a few songs from the show. For record-keeping purposes, here are some songs that aren't on a Simpsons CD yet: (let me know if I've forgotten any)

-Guys and Dolls medley ("Mayored to the Mob")

-One Chorus Line of People ("Treehouse of Horror V")

-Adults/Kids ("Wild Barts Can't Be Broken")

-The Children Are Our Future ("The Old Man and the 'C' Student")

-Bad Cops ("Homer's Triple Bypass")

-There Is a Man ("Marge Gets a Job")

-Just Don't Look ("Treehouse of Horror VI")

-O Whacking Day ("Whacking Day")

-Hey Big Spender/Table Five ("Two Bad Neighbors")

-They Call Him Skinner ("The Principal and the Pauper")

-That's Edu-Tainment! ("Marge Simpson in Screaming Yellow Honkers")

-Fever ("Marge Simpson in Screaming Yellow Honkers")

-Defecit Rag/Trade Gap Shuffle/Lisa Simpson ("Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington")

-I Wanna Go to Mt. Splashmore ("Brush With Greatness")

-I'm a Maniac, sung by Groundskeeper Willie ("Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious")

-My Bratwurst ("Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious")

-Let's All Go to the Lobby ("Burns' Heir")

-Little Miss Springfield ("Lisa the Beauty Queen")

-Itchy & Scratchy Love Theme ("Itchy & Scratchy & Marge")

-I Could Love a Million Girls ("Homer's Night Out")

-Hey Brother, Pour the Wine ("There's No Disgrace Like Home")

-Hello My Baby/Goodbye My Coney Island Babe/C. Everett Koop ("Homer's Barbershop Quartet")

-Star Spangled Banner as sung by Cyndi Lauper ("Wild Barts Can't Be Broken")

-All Singing, All Dancing wraparounds ("All Singing, All Dancing")

-Bleeding Gums Jazz Song, the one that plays at the night club ("Moaning Lisa")

-Krusty's bachelor auction song ("The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons")

-Money Buys You One More Round ("A Star is Burns")

-Only a Moron Wouldn't Cast His Vote For Monty Burns! ("Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish")

-Wind Beneath My Wings ("Krusty Gets Kancelled")- this one may pose some legal problems, not really sure

-Something Stupid as sung by Sideshow Bob & Selma ("Black Widower")- ditto, maybe

-Que Sera Sera as sung by Flanders & townspeople ("Bart's Comet")- ditto again, I think

-Every Time We Say Goodbye ("Krusty Gets Busted")

-Christmas Convoy ("Tis the Fifteenth Season")

-Crosswalk Song ("Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade")

-Simpsons Boogie ("Behind the Laughter")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- Treehouse of Horror III ("Treehouse of Horror III")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- Grampa ("Lady Bouvier's Lover")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- Spring in Springfield ("Bart After Dark")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- Simpson Tide ("Simpson Tide")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- D'oh-in' in the Wind ("D'oh-in' in the Wind")

-Simpsons End Credits Theme- Fighting Seizure Robots ("Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo")

-Simpsons Opening Titles Theme- Treehouse of Horror XI- Munsters parody ("Treehouse of Horror XI")

-Simpsons Opening Titles Theme- Treehouse of Horror XVII- Tales From the Crypt Parody ("Treehouse of Horror XVII")

So as you can see, there are easily enough songs to make a fourth CD. Hint hint, Shout! Factory and Fox. :)

I recall some of the ones you missed:

- All Party Posse songs ("New Kids On The Bleech")

- Mental House Rock ("Take My Wife, Sleaze")

- Zorro Rap ("E-I-E-I-Annoyed Grunt")

- Paul Bunyan Theme ("Simpsons Tall Tales")

- Here's The Angel ("Lisa The Skeptic")

- Joy To The World ("Lisa's Date With Density")

- This Log ("Lisa The Treehugger")

- A Show About Ned ("Alone Again, Natura-Diddly": Credits)

- Jellyfish ("A Star Is Born Again")

- The Moe Szyslak Connection ("Dude, Where's My Ranch")

- All Roofi songs ("Marge Vs. Everyone")

- KBBL Jingle ("Sideshow Bob Roberts")

- Army Tune ("Bart The General")

- Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer ("Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire")

- You're A Hero, Homer J. ("'Tis The Fifteenth Season")

- The Nutcracker Sweet ("Simpsons Christmas Stories")

- Simpsons End Credits Theme Versions: "Take My Wife, Sleaze", "Little Big Mom", "Simpsons Tall Tales", "She Of Little Faith".

"Jellyfish" was on this CD. Good additions, though.

EDIT: For instrumentals, I'd love for them to put the montage music from "Last Exit to Springfield" when Burns and Smithers are running the plant by themselves on a future CD. If they did it with "The Land of Chocolate", I don't see why they can't do it with this track too.
