I hope this'll be better than the last Exodus movies that came out. Prince of Egypt wasn't as good as I'd hoped and neither was the abc remake of the Ten Commandments.
Checked out Huhu's site for some pics and footage of Ten Commandments. For a 3D animated film on a budget, this actually looks pretty damn good. I may just have to give it a watch.
I wish it would be a continuation of The Prince of Egypt, but I guess that's asking a lot. By the way, POE beats Heston hands down, to the extent that they overlap.
12 theatrically released movies? Is this a limited release? Because I can't see these being successful enough to get 12 movies. Then again, maybe I'm underestimating the amount of fanatical religious Christians who are going to rush off to watch this movie and take their fifteen kids. I'm surprised I didn't hear about this earlier. I mean, it's coming out in just under two months.
Again? So soon? This isn't even new to animation (Prince of Egypt might not have been as strong a Biblical adaptation as the original Heston film, but it sure as hell is a stunning work). The CGI here is ugly. Really stiff and doesn't look finished. Almost seems like an animatic, but the backgrounds are so meticulously rendered that I doubt this is a work-in-progress and rather just lazy character animation. Now, if by 3D they mean 3D glasses-type 3D, this could be a decent gimmick. If not, this looks like it'll flop worse than The Nativity Story.
They couldn't do that if they wanted to, considering that Charlton Heston has an advanced case of Alzheimer's disease. Heston is #1 in the role, but the Prince of Egypt did just fine without his talent. We can and should appreciate past talent while also being able to move on.
This certainly sounds ambitious to say the least. The Bible has a lot of potential for good stories to be told, as long as they avoid being overbearing and religious about it. I'm curious to see how this turns out.
He managed to avoid knocking the army and talking about Texas, at least.
I dunno, the clip on that site looks pretty nifty. I'd be willing to see it.
Twelve movies, though? I imagine they'll be well-spaced. That's quite a lot. But like Kuwa said, as long as there's no "and the moral of the story kids is [...]" they could be groovy, so I won't knock the concept.
Well, Passion of the Christ made a good deal of money. D= These will be animated, so you can bring your fifteen kids, yes. It does have potential to be successful.
