Toon Zone Talkback - TBS Greenlights "Neighbors From Hell" Prime-Time Animated Series

On the plus side, it's good to see Dreamworks Animation doing original television series again. This makes it, what, the fifth show to come out of the studio (Invasion America, Toonsylvania, Father of the Pride [by Imagi for Dreamworks Animation], and The Penguins of Madagascar are the others [Evolution: Unleashed was made by DiC for Dreamworks Pictures, not Dreamworks Animation]. It's also good to see Fox making something FOR a Turner network rather than a Turner network picking one up.

On the minus side, questions persists. Is this going to be another 3D animated series or will Dreamworks FINALLY return to their 2D roots? If TBS drops the series, would Adult Swim come in and swoop it up? And speaking of Adult Swim, isn't this series pickup proof that they're creeping into that block's expertise?

Oh well. It's an interesting premise that could be fun.

In defense of Game Over, it was a good idea for an animated series (the private lives of video game characters when they're not in their respective games), it was just poorly executed, and the CGI would have actually been appropriate to employ for a show about VG characters.

But yeah, it'll probably be CGI, as that's the current trend right now, which means that Neighbors from Hell had better be a success, because Dreamworks animation is too expensive to keep producing for a show that no one is going to watch.
