Toon Zone Talkback - "Spaceballs: The Animated Series" Debuts on G4 on Sept 21, 200

The moment i heard Mel Brooks was involved in the project I started getting interested. i saw that as a sign that it could very well be good. Still have to wait and see.

We had a topic like this about q year or so ago when it was announced.

Interesting that they'll be airing 4 episodes in a row. Assuming that it got more than 4 eps, that seems pretty suprising that they'd burn 'em off like that. Especially at 5PM EST I believe

Well, I wasn't here then and can't even dig back that far to check, but thanks for the heads up. I'm sure I will have some use for this thread when it premires week after next.

Wow, it's only been, what, three years since this project was announced? Longer? Glad to see it's finally coming.

And it sounds like it's going to be worth the wait. Looks like classic Mel Brooks humor. Just hearing the names "Panickin' Crybaby" and "Outlet Maul" alone had me giggling. I can't wait for this show!

I didn't say it to mean anything like that. I meant it because I personally thought the project was dead because of all the down time with no info on it pretty much.

I didn't see the display options at the bottom when I posted this. I don't consider two threads over the course of three years a deadhorse, either. Think of it as reminder since this thread actually has the exact premiere date with episode summaries linked to it and isn't just speculation.

The Dark Helmet origin ep sounds hilarious. I really wish Brooks would do a sequel and show those ______ Movie guys what a REAL parody is.

Does anyone know how many episodes there are or if there's a set timeslot beyond the marathon?

I'm not sure. He was still active making movies at the time. I think we need this more now than we did then. Too many lackluster shows on now.

Wow! I thought this project had fallen through a rip in the space-time continuim, never to be seen again. Glad to see it's still happening.

One more time....

Spaceballs: The Cartoon! :anime:

Considering it's G-4 funding this project, I'm amazed we're getting any good animation at all. It could be worse, it could animated like Code Monkeys.
