Toon Zone Talkback - "South Park" Signs Deal with Netflix to Stream First Nine Seasons

I think that deal is a lot more important to their success than anybody would have expected, but I think it also makes their stance on the WGA's strike last year kind of hypocritical. They were pointing and laughing at the writers for demanding a stake in Internet-based revenues when there's no money in it yet, when they struck a deal that would have seemed equally ludicrous in 1997 (and, as far as I can tell, may not even have been Parker & Stone's idea). They should really know better that just because there's no money in it today and nobody knows how you'd make money with it for the foreseeable future doesn't mean that there's no money there ever. I wonder if they'd feel the same way if they hadn't gotten that deal all those years ago.

In addition to what J!!! just said, it's also because connecting your computer to your TV is still harder than it looks. Netflix is doing pretty well with their little streaming video box, which is geared to be a bridge between the Internet and your TV set, and I expect this is where South Park is going to live for them.
