They're definitly trying to be less provocative now. I think last weeks episode was a cleverly disguised poke at that Koran burning, but they made sure not to reference it directly to avoid death threats and censoring. Think about it: small school/church says Germans aren't funny/burn Koran claiming Islam is violent. Germans protesting reaction cements into those who already think so that they aren't funny/Afghan protesting riots lead to dead people confirming to those who already think so that Islam is violent. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

If I'm Matt and Trey, this is my last straw with CC. I mean, censoring a freakin' COMMENTARY? Can anybody honestly tell me when, in the history of DVDs, has that happened before? Honestly, all of Western Civilization should be ashamed for the way we have betrayed our ideals of free speech to appease these animals.

The point of buying a South Park DVD set is that you get the episodes uncensored and without commercials. Releasing this set with 200/201 in this state is terrible.

I bought it. I knew what I was getting, but I bought it anyway. Even knowing about the censorship, it's still a bit jarring that Mohammad's name is censored in 201 but not 200. I had never seen 201 before, so the mass censoring at the end did come off as a gag (certainly had me laughing). Didn't listen to the commentary.

I agree. I thought the whole point of the DVDs were to have the bits they censored on TV to be uncensored.
While I'm conflicted with how serious the censorship in 201 was, there are parts that I think are true like them going over the limit with Muhammad was a Comedy Central mandate, seeing as how CC refuses to show an image on him, especially considering that they still won't show Super Best Friends anymore. But I had a feeling that them censoring him like that was more of the joke on how they couldn't show him, considering Tom Cruise was handled like that. Feels weird. I thought the censorship on the commentary was a little baffling as well.
My only complaint with the DVD so far is that I wished that 200 and 201 were on the same DVD. As for the code for the Book of Mormon song, did you try typing the phrase with no capitals? I tried that and was able to download the song just fine.

I'm beginning to suspect that myself. The way everything is censored just seems too deliberate. If Comedy Central took issue with a huge section of speech in the episode like they allegedly did, wouldn't they just cut the entire scene, rather than bleep out long selections of the dialogue?
And since Matt and Trey have apparently had nothing to say about the bleeped-out commentary, it would appear that was deliberate too. I think we've all been the victim of a humongous prank, and it's only taken us until now to figure it out.
