Toon Zone Talkback - Seth Green and Co. Working on Fox Project

Hmm, I wonder where they are going to try and place this, on Animation Domination? That night is already getting flack for being a Seth MacFarlane night, now one of his buddies wants a slice of the pie? Maybe The Simpsons will leave sooner than I think...

I doubt if any new show comes onto the Animation Domination block its either going to be expanded or American Dad would be tooken off due to its lower ratings.

Doesn't AD get better ratings than the Simpsons? I remember MacFarlene said that once. An interviewer once asked, "American Dad isn't enjoying the success of Family Guy" and McFarlene reponded with "true, but atleast it gets better ratings than the Simpsons." And that interview was from about a year ago.

Well, you take a look at these numbers from Sunday and tell me. As for a general, no, I believe The Simpsons gets higher ratings than American Dad!, and I believe AD! was the worst rated show on Animation Domination the last few years, even behind King Of The Hill.

No, The Simpsons still gets better ratings than American Dad. Hence why American Dad is periodically stuck in the 7:30 slot.

American Dad reaches the 100-episode syndication carrot at the end of this season and I don't see promotions for it anymore, so if there's one show on Sunday night they're going to move for this Seth Green series...

Woops EDIT

If I recall, last season American Dad edged King of the Hill out by a tick or two, but not much. For all intents and purposes they were pretty much even last season.

American Dad gets pretty decent ratings, while not awesomely high, they still are good.

You guys are also ignoring the fact that American Dad is pretty much here to stay considering I remember Fox saying AD makes them millions of dollars in merchandising alone each year. I believe it made a ridiculous figure in money.

A new FOX animated show is being created for Animation Domination?
And it's not made by Seth MacFarlane?
And it's not about a dysfunctional family?
And it's made by the guys who made Robot Chicken??

Okay, this definitely has my attention.

So I guess the crew from Robot Chicken did like being on a real network (see Road to the Multiverse) :p.

You know their show could air on weekdays and not necesarely on Animation Domination.

I'm kinda excited about this. I could see this working as a midseason replacement for american dad maybe. I think that animation domination works way too well together and that for Fox to risk putting it up against the power lineups on monday - thursday would be a huge mistake without first testing it out on animation domination. The lineup does a great job of building of of itself. Which is why all the shows have similar settings so they can have an easier time working together. So i'm really not surprised that his show has to do with "family life and high school"

Of course they're still working on scripts so it sounds like they have a long way to go til Fox has to make a decision like this.

Well yeah if just a script was ordered, then this is still highly preliminary and if this show did get made we wouldn't see it until like next fall at the earliest. There's a whole ton of steps to get through yet before this could become a show.

I imagine they'd do the same thing they're doing this midseason with Sons of Tucson on Sunday nights - American Dad would move to 7:30 and the Seth Green series would take its timeslot, then Fox would see how they perform and make a decision from there.
