Toon Zone Talkback - Recording Begins on 'Drawn Together' Movie

Uncensored, unblurred nudity, unbleeped curse words, possibly a higher degree of violence, the usual.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. A DTV movie, even one that's 3 TV episodes strung together, will require a greater amount of substance than the show usually had.

A DTV just means that there will be no holding back and no bleeping.

This foray into DTV-land doesn't change the fact that Drawn Together was (and still is) a potentially good idea (cartoon characters from different eras/genres sharing living quarters) which was horribly wasted by an excess of toilet humor and a "how low can we go, how much can we get away with?" stance.

If the DTV meant that the writers were going to take a different approach to the show and characters, then you might've had me.

My guess for this DTV is that it is going to be a reunion special. I'm not sure for any other news about this special, so I don't know what it is, but I call that it is going to be a reunion special.

Nah, it's even discussed in the episode commentary for Drawn Together Babies on the Season 3 DVD set. But when I heard about things moving slowly on it, I just assumed it would just be a project that would just quietly get canceled for some reason.

That's exactly how I feel toward the property. But, just as I'm thinking it's finally over, they reel me back in by my parody addiction. :(

Actually, I'm glad they changed the premise. It became such a guilty pleasure with the "how low can we go" angle, because you tuned in JUST to see how far they would go. It was so OTT that most of the time it was making fun of the very idea of something being offensive. Plus, the third season got into a huge groove of having terrific plots and well-done running gags.

It's a "love it, hate it" kind of show, which Comedy Central harbors a lot of...

I've been rewatching this show on DVD, and I always wondered why they didn't pursue Xander's neverending quest to save his boyfriend. That plotpoint just seemed to be forgotten all together.

I think the failure of Drawn Together (along with Freak Show) made Coemdy Central ween off doing anymore non SP related animated programs. I am glad though they are giving DT one last thing before it closes it's chapter for good since doing a DTV special is better then just having a clip show parody special which they had for the series finale of the TV show. A reunion special would make the most sense but I just hope that's the start of it. And they have plots for each character and this time around bother doing webtoon refrences since it's not like you have to worry about your TV auidence not getting any of them or something.

Failure of Drawn Together?

Drawn Together got extremely high ratings and was one of Comedy Central's top rated series along with South Park.
