No, seriously, tell us how you really feel about Pumpkin Scissors.
Well, while I wouldn't put it on a "worst anime ever" list, after watching about half it did fall pretty flat to me. Yeah, it's often a case where they have an adventure and that's the episode, no more and no less, and I ended the third disc wondering when the show would kick it into high gear. The one character that stood out considerably was the protagonist, but I have to admit that she could be considered a Mary Sue given that most nobles encountered seemed to be stereotypically evil or indifferent to the postwar troubles. There are shades of good ideas here and there, such when Alice has to find a way to convince one distrusting town to accept help with reconstruction, but I didn't see much writing that really hit thought-provoking levels.
Also, it's okay for Randel to be an emotionally reserved guy that can become a badass, but his dub voice at least almost comes off as downright lethargic. The other merabers mostly just seem to be there, and it bothers me that Captain Hunks and Major Stecchin never seem to leave the office.
