Toon Zone Talkback - Partial Season Sets For "Clannad" and "Princess Resurrection"

sadly no ADV confirmed it is an error at RightStuf

i guess the economy is taking its toll on our beloved anime companies, it did not help that a lot of ADV titles that were dubbed in the last year did not sell as much

i can only hope if these do well for ADV that they can hang around until after the economy gets better and we can see them get stronger and do more dubs again

that is why I will be supporting ADVs new shows, come to think of it there are also a lot of their old shows that I still need to buy

I actually would prefer ADV to hold off on series that they can not dub into English for now. Can not as in, don't have the money for it.

*bummed out*

SCREW YOU, ECONOMY!!! AGAIN!!!

(looks at Pani Poni Dash DVD's)

(sigh) If it's the only way...

I have a better idea, why can't the voice actors go to mainstream animation?

I'd say that this is ADV's way of saying that they don't feel that they will make back their money if they dub the series. Clannad is good but I'd say it is still niche.

For the people ADV works with, it'd mean moving to LA or to lesser extent, NYC or Atlanta. A lot of those people would rather not make the move from Houston to Ft. Worth so they could work at Funimation easily (often times opting to do a hotel stay when tapped to dub a Funi show,) let alone leave the state. Add to the fact that the VA industry in LA is already very competitive, and the fact that a lot that the big studios like to heavily use a handful of VAs, and it doesn't necessarily add up to more work by moving out to LA. Atleast by staying in Texas, they can get work at Funimation, and they can continue to perform in local theater productions (a lot of the Texas VAs come out of the local theater scene so they all already have a reliable connection into it.)
