Toon Zone Talkback - "Madea" Getting Animated

Urgh! I can't stand Tyler Perry. The man is simply not funny or talented in any way, IMO, and Madea is The Lame Recurring Character That Refuses to Die. Perry sets the African-American race so far back that I'm thinking of re-establishing the Underground Railroad.

I'll definitely skip this one, if it actually happens.

Someone please tell me that this is just a cruel joke. :(

In any case, the good news is that according to Variety, this Madea series may go straight to DVD, so I can just treat it the way that I do all of Tyler Perry's DVDs and simply not watch it.

And what of the Wayans Bros.?

I haven't really seen the movies, but Madea seems like a cartoonish character (from what I've seen in previews of the movies), so this seems a natural to me.

Tyler Perry writes some funny stuff, IMO (I've seen almost all his movies and DVDs/plays!), so seeing Madea in a cartoon would be just interestingly awesome. :anime:

I question your mom taste in movies, dude.

But... Back on Topic

I can actually see this selling well in the Target I work in for some reason, every time this Tyler Perry has a movie, its DVD sells in my store. Though I really can't give fair judgement on this, but if what a majority of people on this topic is saying is true, then I probably won't watch it, even if it gets on Cartoon Network. Speaking of which, I can see it being broadcasted on a Turner owned television station for some reason.

LOL.

I question her at everything.

She thought it looked good. But she didn't like it. Though I'd be surprised if anyone else thought that movie was good by the commercials.

ANYHOO,
Making a cartoon focusing on our generation's worse black stereotype, is a bad idea. But people keep thinking that's stuff is funny.

I've seen Perry's House of Payne. That show depressed me.

Heh, heh, atleast she learned her lesson.

So this going to be like "The Boondocks" but less funny? It is filled with stereotype, but it makes me laugh, and think.

I guess if it makes it on TV I'll watch an episode or two, but if it doesn't click, back to me playing with my Xbox360 or Wii.

Also since House of Payne is on TBS, If that show is doing good on that network, like I said before, that just gives me proof that Turner might pick up the rights and put it on either TBS or CN.

I've never heard of this 'Madea' thing, or Tyler Perry for that matter.

The fact that his work hasn't crossed the Atlantic suggests I may be wise to avoid this.

This Madea crap is the WORST THING EVER CREATED. I had taken comfort in the fact that this virus hasn't infected the world of animation, but now this.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, everybody avoid this thing like the plague. It will make you dumber for having watched it.
