Was contemplating seeing this in theaters but decided not to. May get it on Blu-ray sometime.

Have to disagree about the quality of the animation itself; It's some of the most fluid 3D I've seen, and definitely on par with Pixar visually.

I agree with you on that, I thought it was the best animated film this year. The backgrounds were the best Dr. Seuss backgrounds ever. And the animation on the characters were some of the best especially the mayors facial expressions, the animators knew how to make the story more fun with those visuals. And the voice acting wasn't too bad either.

It's not so common where I live, there's only a couple of them, and they don't really do anything besides post papers on the stop sign for their scooter club...yeah...

I've never heard any real bad news about Horton, (besides TZ's first review, which discouraged me from watching it in theaters) maybe it's woth a DVD rental when I have the time to watch it. It can't be worse than "Bee Movie".

I have to disagree with the comments made about Kennedy and cell phones. Those are just two brief instances that don't detract from the story at all. But Weatherman made a big deal about them in the review as if pop-culture is all throughout the movie. And the cell phones are barely just there; they're not even used for gags or anything. I didn't even remember it until I read this review. And I just watched the movie yesterday.

But I do agree that some of the comedy was forced (although the ending and the character Katie are hilarious). At times they seemed to try too hard to make simple things entertaining... like it was too frantic and needed a few more simple moments. They should have gone for a more straightforward approach in that respect. Other things could have been executed a little better too, I guess, but they key moments in the movie were done excellently.Overall I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
