Ah ha, it's for me!

Well, it may not end up being a classic of the genre necessarily, and my favorites tend to put plot first. Even so, it seems like it's still worth checking out. Given how much history and mythology there apparently is Heroic Age sounRAB overarabitious if anything, but that's far better than the alternative. And at least the writing and plot didn't turn out to be a disappointment, even if the action was considered to be taking up too much time.
I have a lot to get out of the way first, but this is definitely in the queue.
