I never thought it would come out given that it has been nearly 4 years, but the project gets a little closer to reality now that Funimation has licensed it.

Some things have changed though, it's now a movie/manga project. The movie starts production in 2010 and the manga is to follow later.

It's as anime as Avatar is considered an anime, if you catch my drift.

Oh I got it. Man people will get confused with this too. I remember people asking if Avatar was anime.

Not quite. This has a Japanese character designer and is being animated by a fairly prolific Japanese animation studio. So technically, it's as anime as Oban, the Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight (Western writer, completely Japanese staff).
