Toon Zone Talkback - Groening on "Simpsons Movie" Sequel

DYK? IT21C, ESIA!*

Anyway, WAY too soon to tell. It doesn't even sound like they've started production, or if they have, it's in preliminary stages, as Matt said he had no idea when one would come out.

While I didn't like The Simpsons Movie quite as much as the classic era, it was still a good movie and thus wouldn't object to a sequel, so long as it had care put into it again.

*Don't you know? It's the 21st century, everyone speaks in abbreviations! ;)

Hopefully the 2nd movie will not be the end to the simpsons series. I mean it`s made it this far why stop it in a few years new things happen all the time they can base it off of that I mean 400+ episodes never really disliked any of the episodes that I have seen and if it does end on the 2nd movie or 3rd movie I hope we get alot more tree house of horrors my favorite thing to see on halloween.

Oh boy...

If they DO go thru with this, I hope they can get Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein on board.

Still, I can't get over how nowadays, Hollywood feels they MUST have a sequel to all of their films. It actually took The Simpsons 15 YEARS to get a movie; why do they want to push their luck?

I know that for quality's sake the series really should end soon, but I kind of can't help wanting to see it continue.

It's like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer and the car salesman are driving the car past empty and can't get themselves to stop the car until it finally just gives out on them.

I know we really should be getting off this ride, but it's been going on so long that I'm just curious how much longer it can go before just dying. So bring on more movies and seasons I say.

I'll admit though that from a fan standpoint that's probably a bad attitude to have, but whatever.

And you realize that both Pokemon and especially Rugrats suffered a significant decline in quality after they started making movies, right?
