This is the talkback thread for Golden Globes: "Ratatouille," Others Get Noms.

Interesting that Persepolis got its nomination in the Foreign Language category. It makes sense, since Hollywood seems to have less of a problem recognizing non-US movies as, y'know, art. I hope the spirit is catching.

Hollywood cares about art? Unless you mean dumping in a few "arthouse" theaters while promoting the **** out of stuff like Hitman and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I disagree, the fact that the AMPAS has been largely been shoving the Golden Globe winners down the toilet for the past three years says quite a lot.

"Ratatouille" will win, although "The Simpsons Movie" might sneak in the upset. I haven't seen "Bee Movie", nor do I want to.

"Persopolis" will probably not make it out here to the Heartland, except maybe in a Netflix envelope...
