This is the talkback thread for "Ghost in the Shell" Blu-ray Disc Coming Late Summer.

Hmm, I have to wonder what "reworked" means. I hope this doesn't mean pulling a George Lucas and inserting new CG into an old film. If that simply means better picture, obviously I'm all for it.

The 2.0 version was in the anime news a few months ago. Basically, they re-animated a few scenes using CGI

As I've said before, I will be buying this. I'm greatly anticipating the cleaned up visuals as well and the CGI won't look so "eh" to me.

(reaRAB up on 2.0) Ah, I see. Now, according to Wikipedia, the special edition will include the original 1995 film alongside the 2.0 revision which, if true, is definitely appreciated. That said, this IS Wikipedia we're talking about (and I don't see a reference listed in that section), so I'm taking it with a big grain of salt right now.

2.0 hasn't been getting favourable early reviews. But, as long as they include the original, no fans of it will be complaining.
