Toon Zone Talkback - "Gakuen Alice: The Complete Series": Ready To Set The World Ablaze

This is the talkback thread for "Gakuen Alice: The Complete Series": Ready To Set The World Ablaze.

Ah, Karl's citing Kodocha. Very good sign. It sounRAB like an excellent show since it balances "sweetness" and humor with some dramatic moments also, whereas some kid shows would settle for being only unrelentingly sweet.

I had this show in my netflix queue, but the first disc of it was just a little too sugary for me. I really did dig the concept of the academy, though.

Very Charles Xavier-ish.

I may....MAY give it another chance, now that my queue is nearing its end and I'm starting to put in shows I've seen before.

It's gets a bit more well round as the disc goes on, but there are two ways around the fact that it's one of the more saccarin titles that has ever run in Hana to Yume. Of course because it ran in Hana to Yume (rather than Cheese or Nakayoshi,) it atleast sticks to the young girl demographic, and doesn't have any duel-marketing to creepy otaku. It's genuinely sweet, not moe sweet.
