Toon Zone Talkback - "Futurama" Voice Cast *WILL* Return for New Episodes in 2010

Wow, look how this turned out. Who'd have thought that a salary dispute that started right around comic con, with all ancillary drama (panel cancellations and nationwide audition notices) and press, would have had such a happy ending, not to mention garnered such publicity?

Shocker.

Never watched Futurama, but now, I really REALLY want to...not watch it, again.

But, I do want my SAG voucher for playing the role of another unwilling, osmotic member of the supporting cast to a handful of corporate marketeers and spoiled, overpaid voice actors.
 
You know, this whole voice actor scare was pretty effective at getting people's minds off of concerns about the new season being not as good as the earlier ones, as was the case with the DTVs.

But I'm sure that'll start up again by the end of the week :shrug:
 
Well, of course it won't be as good as the earlier seasons. Like Spongebob & Family Guy, there's going to be a HUGE feeling of difference between pre/post cancellation episodes.

I just wonder if Comedy Central will actually split the four DTV's up into 16 individual episodes to air with the rest of the show. So far they've just been airing them as the actual movies.
 
They'll just edit the episodes for time like they do with Family Guy. A LOT of FG's controversial content made it into the syndicated run, so Futurama, which was a much cleaner show for the most part, shouldn't be any different.

Unless you were referring to if CC will still air Futurama if the show goes into syndication, then the answer is yes. It'll be the same deal as Scrubs, which is also in syndication right now, although in some markets it's buried in a late night slot.
 
Well, I don't know how the first two are FOX's fault(I guess you talk about The Simpsons' declining, but they aren't going to end a show that still makes them money. Plus, the show runners have no intention of ending it anytime soon).

The wha..? Um, how is King of the Hill not about a family? Its' star, Hank Hill, has a wife, a son and a niece, all of whom are featured prominently. If that's not a domestic comedy, then we must have different definitions of the term.
 
I thought this had already been posted in this thread, but apparently not since people keep referring to the misinformation reported by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter over the alleged salaries the voice actors were asking.

Rumors are circulating that one and possibly two principal cast members may not return. What I do know is that the negotiations could be resolved soon, but I can't confirm anything yet.

And after that, negotiations will likely start with the supporting cast as they did with The Powerpuff Girls.
 
Actually, I was referring to how they will handle the splitting up of the DTV movies. You can't just randomly start an episode in syndication in the middle of a story. I hope they cut for time and add recaps to the start and a "TBC" at the end...
