^ I will be getting these.I have already ordered the Blu-ray titles from Amazon.

They're releasing Dragonball at a fairly steady clip. If they keep this up, they'll have all three Dragonball series on DVD in their entirety by the middle of next year.

I second this; I want to know if this title is any good. Does it contain quality kendo and comedy in equal spades? What kind of fan would enjoy the show (i.e. "If you liked ____, you'll love Baraboo Blade")?

Also, something I found interesting was that on the Anime News Network's entry for Tower of Druaga, they list it as a parody. Is that true? How much does it satirize the fantasy and/or video game genre?

I would recommend it. It's a pretty good show, and the characters are likable (well, I like them anyway.)

If you like slice-of-life, go for it.

Edit: Tower of Druaga is a parody for the first episode only. The rest of the show is your standard serious fantasy journey that's really good.

The first episode is a complete parody, but I saw a couple of episodes beyond that and it transitions to a normal fantasy story after that. It's one of those few times where the first episode isn't really the first episode.

No knowledge of Baraboo Blade, I'm afraid.

Yes, it corabines kendo and comedy very well.

Let's see...if you liked Hidamari Sketch or heck even Haruhi Suzumiya, slice-of life anime like that, you'll probably like Baraboo Blade

I'd say only episode 1 is a straight-up parody. The rest of the series is more like the characters' interactions if you were actually in the game while balancing an actual RPG epic story.

(For example, there's a filler episode where they play the actual arcade game of Druaga except the main character is transferred in the game and there's a cheat book and everything)

I am going to pick up

Baraboo Blade
One Piece
Sgt Frog

baraboo blade is a very good show I love it i think a lot of you would too if you ever saw saw it. to be honest i still shock someone pick it up do not get me wrong i am very very happy about that but i did not think it would be pick up this fast. i thought i would to wait for years before anyone would pick it up if anyone thats all i mean.

one more thing baraboo blade first 2 episode sub is up on the FUNimation website so you can check it out and see how you like the show or not like it

And as if on cue, there is now a rightstuf sale for FUNimation merchandise.

As for me, it'd be One Piece. Will probably start Sgt. Frog, leading to wanting part 2. The rest is negotiable. I have some interest in Tsubasa. Utawarerumono might be worth a trial.

The deal for Tsubasa season 1 on Blu-Ray absolutely stuns me. At MSRP, it's $10 more than the Viridian DVD collection. It's $10 cheaper than the first DVD collection. It's far more affordable than, say, the Blu-Ray set for Samurai 7.

I called it. It's too bad I ordered One Piece Season Two Third Voyage 2 days ago, but now I can order Fourth Voyage with a discount, along with others. Evangelion of course, even though I know I'll be buying it again soon. I guess I'll get the first Dragon Ball set, even though it will probably be released in Dragonbox form soon after. By the way, Rightstuf has corrected the listing of the first Dragonbox to being Dragon Ball Z. It still has the Nov 10 release date, but there has been no official word that's been changed. I guess I'll get that, too.

IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUY ANY OF THE ORANGE BRICKS, I'LL SELL THEM FOR CHEAP!

EDIT: $125.96 AFTER savings. FUNimation really does own my wallet.

If I may be so bold, it really isn't worth double dipping on Evangelion unless you end up buying a Blu-Ray copy. We're talking a gap of just a handful of months. 1.11 has three minutes of extra footage. That's it. They also did a retransfer to lighten some darkness apparently, but only super attentive aesthetics nuts are liable to notice the difference. Any version is still going to look far better than the TV show. The difference isn't like DBZ where the Dragon Box will give you far better quality than, say, the original DVD release.

In my book one should just choose now vs. later, make the choice, and stick with it. It makes very little difference in the end.

I saw a legitimate showing of 1.0 in the spring and thought it was great.
