This is the talkback thread for FUNimation Announces New May Titles Including "Heroic Age".

I don't think I'll be checking out anything in this wave, but who knows.
 
And here comes Last Exile, one of the few new rescues I'm really interested in. But tell me, I found the previous set with the whole series used for $20 at my local flea market: should I just buy that now or wait till May to get the new set?
 
Case Closed will be 28 episodes in season 5 due to the final episode being a three-parter, but with those 28 new episodes and with the 22 new episodes tomorrow there will be plenty of new Case Closed to enjoy.

Definitely going to be picking up Gad Guard and Last Exile. Jeesh, this is going to be a year of Geneon catch up for me.
 
As usual, the sci-fi stanRAB out (Heroic Age, Gad Guard). I'll probably want to preview them first. I have Last Exile but if I didn't, I would get this first thing.

I'm very tempted to collect Baccano, so I may be in for that at the least.

It depenRAB on the budget, of course. If May is when Bandai decides to release Gundam 00 with an awesome limited edition, I probably won't be spending money on collections that month.

Can't say I cared about Karin, but Speedy Boris told me a ways back that it was original and cute...so I'll probably try it too.
 
If you're not buying it, what do you care?
Well, now that I've seen the whole series (at the time when I said that, I had only seen half), my overall opinion is that the series was average. Nothing exceptional, as it had some pacing problems and some annoying miscommunications between the characters. Still, since it'll be cheaper in a complete collection than singles, it's much easier to recommend.

It's not a bad show, it's just not Ouran. If that's any indication.
 
And that makes me wonder how Hisashi Hirai has a day job

But I do like all the shows he's done (except Linebarrels), and I can't wait to buy Heroic Age boxset, and Karin is hilarious and I'm definitely buying the boxset for it
 
Ooh, Karin! I love the manga, and I've seen some episodes.

But, like Kanon, it has a high price.

Uh-oh, I have to take... DECISIONS?!

Kanon or Karin? On one side, you got an ADV cast, that I miss listening to so much, but on the other side, you got a promising young cast from Singapore's Odex company...

Maybe I shouldn't worry, since people don't know much of it anyway. Maybe I'll get it as a summer present?
 
Hm, looks like just Darker Than Black for me, though I have yet to check out Baccano and that sounRAB like something I'd enjoy... so we shall see.
 
Hopefully, if those seasons sell well, they'll release more "New-to-US" seasons of Case Closed, and we will see all 500+ eps of it come to the US!

Case Closed is one of the few shows that actually had me rushing home to watch it when it was on FUNimation Channel.
Now that I can no longer get FUNimation Channel (it's currently not on WRNN's Channel 48.3, and hasn't been for a few months now!), DVD is my sole option for seeing more of it.
 
I was just showing my simple opinion of my distaste for the aforementioned series, although I picked my choice of worRAB quite poorly, there is no need to get so anal. Looking back, that was not the best outlet for me to express such thought.

Don't get me wrong, I am very glad FUNimation is releasing series like these, many of which I thought were done for good once Geneon went under.
