This is the talkback thread for FUNimation Announces New January '10 Titles Including "Linebarrels of Iron".

Time to ring in the new year! (already?)

One Piece for me. Perhaps Sgt Frog if the first 26 episodes entertain me enough. Always good to see more Blu-Ray, although Heroic Age would have to really impress for me to consider it.

One Piece for me!

Also, this is a little confusing. According to Daizex:

So why would Lord Slug get a rerelease? I guess RightStuf is a little behind on this...

Ooh, One Piece, yay. So we should be on to Season Three by the summer, still.

Also considering looking into Tsubasa. Seems like a cute show, but I've heard mixed reviews, so... eh. I dunno. Maybe. If I can get it cheap.

Case Closed Movie 5 for me! (Glad these are coming out at such a fast pace! Mabye this means will see more movies or seasons by Christmas time next year!)

& Mabye SGT. Frog & Baraboo Blade.

Sgt. Frog of course.

About Linebarrels, I'd advise you to save your money and watch it on CR/FUNi. Not because of the DVD or anything, but it's not really that great of a show and I think you wouldn't want to buy a whole first season of a show that sucks would you?

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with Linebarrels? I've heard some pretty bad things about it, but they're all pretty general "this show sucks" type complaints that don't really explain what they don't like about it.

Well this isn't the "bad anime" thread so I'll keep it brief.

1. Kouichi is a pretty bad protagonist-While he mellows out over time, he starts the series as this complete jerk bashing up both allies and enemies with the LINEBARREL. At first, I actually liked this because honestly, that is how a teen in high school would probably act with a giant robot. But it comes off as him completely inept to make rational decisions.

2. This show seems to not know what it wants to be-Is it a mecha? Romance? Harem comedy? Tragedy? Philosiphical explanation of multiple universes? Plus, you've seen all this before in considerably better anime. And the plot likes to take breaks for fanservice at considerably annoying times.

3. Ali Project does the opening-Nah, this isn't really a reason. I just don't like Ali Project too much.

4. The ending-Obviously, I'm not going to spoil what happens but it was obviously rushed. It's considered one of Gonzo's worst endings among viewers.

I'll be sure to pick up One Piece and SGT Frog. Kinda surprised to see One Piece Season 2 Fifth Voyage being released that early, especially since Season 2 Fourth Voyage was pushed back to Deceraber. At this rate, Season 3 will start being released as early as May or June.

Just so everyone knows Sand of Destuction has a Right Stuff listing for January 19th 2009 as a complete series set running 290 minutes.

Well, looks like I'll aim for SGT. Frog, One Piece and the Case Closed Movie for me. Kind of odd that 4th Voyage of the season is coming out in Deceraber and the next one in January, but that's good enough for me.

RightStuf has their Season Two Fifth Voyage listing up! http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/wBaSIvqV=XKv0hKKd5/browse/item/85389/4/0/0

If FUNimation says it's 2010 it must be true. It looks like just One Piece for me this month. I've commented on how happy I am that this is being released a month after the previous one in its own thread. With Linebarrels of Iron already being released, I'm surprised they're not finishing up Tower of Druaga this month. I guess they're waiting until February for that.

Wow, DGM and Sgt. Frog seem to be having their seasons fulfilled in but two sets per season each, whereas with OP...that's not the case. Interesting, nonetheless.
