About time, too.

EDIT: My 1,000th post. I am now a man!

AWESOME!!

Since Funimation probably won't dub the whole series (isn't Detective Conan up to its 5 millionth episode in Japan?) I hope they can at least dub all the movies.

Yeah, its good news!, Hopefully if the movies sale well Funi will dub season 6 of Case closed finally, I mean Since Ai Harabara is going to be in movies 3 & up it would be nice to have here 1st apperance dubbed in english, but thats just my openion.

& yes CC is on its over 500 episodes in japan, Its there bloody scooby-doo, but with out the hippies & the talking dog. LULZ. Now if only funi could find a way to get it as popular here in the US.

At least they announced the movies. When they started releasing the series in season sets, I thought they were repackaging the 80 or so episodes they already did... then I found out that partway through the fourth set that there were new-to-America episodes being released! FUNi kinda slid those in under the radar there!

I'm still glad there's enough of us that like the show that FUNi has to keep 'uncancelling' it, though.

It should be noted for the record that FUNi's had these movies dubbed for a while, possibly since 2005 when they dubbed the 123 episodes that they own. This isn't really a sign of FUNi "uncancelling" the series; they're just cleaning out their archives.

Of course, the series was never "cancelled" in the first place, so there's no reason to worry anyhow. The season sets have been selling better with each set, according to what was said at Anime Expo, and considering FUNi's had everything they own dubbed since 2005, they've been doing nothing but raking in profits for the series over 20+ releases for four years now. That stuff adRAB up. I'm sure more will get licensed once they finish selling what they originally got. The series is doing fine, I'm sure. It's just not high on FUNi's priority list right now.

That said, it's AWESOME to finally have these confirmed. Movie three is my favorite Conan movie of all time.

I'm going to have to watch some of these someday. I love the Case Closed manga (have all 29 digests). However, I generally don't watch anime because my DVD collection is getting too big as it is and the only way to see most anime is to buy it.

I knew they had the third and fourth films. I didn't know about the fifth and sixth films. So they'll be released this winter huh. That makes me happy. Hopefully the DVD's will continue to sale well (they just released a season 1 Viridian Pack) allowing people to scoop them up and making FUNi realize they need to move forward with Case Closed similar to how they are doing One Piece.

I thought Lupin III was their Scooby Doo since it has the same history. Existed since the 70's, has had various TV series going on from that time period through the present, seems to find its bread and butter in releasing direct-to-TV specials and video releases thoughout present day, and consistently being reinvented despite the core cast maintaining the same.

...AND tenRAB to crossover with other shows of a similar nature. Tee Hee
(If you didn't get the joke see how many people are bellyaching about which Detective Conan they SHOULD HAVE licensed).

O-chan

This is the talkback thread for Funimation Announces "Case Closed" Movies.

About time Case Closed/Meitantei Conan got some more FUNimation love after almost giving up on it.
