This is the talkback for "Family Guy" to Compete for Emmys with Live-Action Comedies.

Hmm, interesting. I believe The Simpsons tried to do so for a few years back around the time it started, and King of the Hill tried so lately, as well. It's a little weird that one of the show's executive producer's referred to The Powerpuff Girls as "Powderpuff", considering that Seth worked at CN previous to Family Guy.

When will we know when the Emmy nominees are chosen, anyway?

It's surprising, but not surprising at the same time.

It's like, a lot/all of FOX's cartoons are animated sitcoms to begin with, so it's like, almost natural for them to be competing against other sitcoms and stuff.

Well, if The Simpsons have been going almost 20 years without any luck it would be the most heinous crime against TV comedy if this goes ahead. Not that I'm against Family Guy, I'm all for an animated show competing with live-action. No, what I hate is that all those years The Simpsons didn't win, Everybody Loves Raymond, etc. etc. was considered the funnier show. Surely proof that someone in the governing body really hasn't a clue what's what and that they have an axe to grind with Matt Groening or something.
