Toon Zone Talkback - 'Family Guy' Reunites 'Star Trek' Cast

yeah i read this a bit ago and got really excited. i can handle the gay stewie jokes they are bad and irritating but they do not kill episodes, brian being an extreme liberal again irritatin but not a killer to an episode, meg bashing tiresome but again not death of an episode. i would prefer they did not rely on these cruthches to ge them through the episode because i am so excited to see this one but the most important thing i do not want to see them do is have peter say the EXACT SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!! i seriously almost stop watching after the "bird is the word". this should be really awesome i am excited and i just hope they do not screw it up. also when was jonathan franks on FG? was it a quick cameo deal in one of their cut scenes or was he a character in an episode cause i do not remember.

This sounds like a ripoff of Futurama's Star Trek episode, only with the Next Generation cast instead of the Original Series cast.

Stewart has been on FG a few times. I could have Sworn Frakes was on thier that one skit where they made fun of Worf's forehead.

Man, I haven't seen hide nor hair of Spiner in ages.

"Futurama already did it." would be my initial response to this news. However, Family Guy is reuniting the Next Generation cast, so it's not exactly the same. I will wait until after I've seen the episode before passing judgment.

i think you are right about franks being there when the made fun of worf. i know stewart has been doing things as bullock. as for spiner he has had a few guest roles as a nerd icon or bit part on random shows here and there but he has unfortuneately fallen victim to a trekkie pigeon hole. he did just get done doing voice work with a bunch of other heavy hitters such as james earl jones, william shatner, samuel L jackson, jason alexander, and mark hamill. it should be interesting it is a 3d educational thing sponsored by nasa so it should look cool, and the voice talents will make it that much better.

Nuts, they put something interesting in the episode. I was hoping to avoid it because of the other plot in it, but now I suppose I'll record it and fast-forward over the insulting parts later.

How do you know the episode's A plot (or is it the B plot?) is going to be insulting though? Lots of people expected the worst from Sunday's episode and it didn't turn out that bad.

Why not wait and see?

I suggest everybody forget about that Futurama episode before watching this, or else it will probably be a letdown. And no, that's not a crack at what Family Guy's become (that's been run into the ground too many times). I'm recommending that because the Futurama Star Trek episode was so incredibly perfect that anything is going to pale by comparison.

I know comparisons are going to be made anyway, but for the sake of eliminating high expactations, I'm forgetting all about it for a while.

So Futurama reunited the Original Series cast, now Family Guy is reuniting the Next Generation cast. I can't wait until The Venture Brothers reunites the Deep Space Nine cast.

Sounds interesting, will be checking it out no doubt about it.

It's a shame about Brent Spiner not being too too active since TNG, but at least he has been doing stuff. I'm interested in getting his "Dreamland" CD, it sounds so good (he has a beautiful singing voice).
