Toon Zone Talkback - "Dora" Going Live-Action

Already had a live-action Dora for awhile now.. those musical dance plays I always see advertised at the local stadium... but that was an adult.

Just when I thought Dora was coming to an end, this happened. Oh well I guess I have to endure 5+ more years of Dora related crap because of this spinoff. Can someone please kill this show off already?

Actually, it think it might help the series a bit, considering it's geared to very young children. Making the show live-action (if done properly) may help children better connect with a flesh and blood person rather than a cartoon character.

As long as they don't botch this effort, this could be a very worthwhile spinoff.

Well since this will be live action preteens-teens may be able to connect with it better like you said. Still I don't like the idea of a Dora spinoff. I wish this show would just die.

I saw that adult Dora performing on The Today Show once; it was funny, because after her number, the host interviewed her, and she refused to break character. Sadistic as it sounds, I wanted the host to say, "Knock it off! We know you're not really Dora the Explorer! She's like 7 years old, and you're clearly 22! The kiddies aren't watching, so why don't tell the truth: you're an aspiring actress who works at a coffee house, and you're just doing this until someone offers you a part in a soap opera and your career takes off!" :p

At least it's not theatrical otherwise, we'd see ads for it everywhere.

Though ya gotta admit, preschool shows are very, VERY, profitable.

Where the hell is Swiper? Why didn't he swipe this live action Dora the Explorer idea from people's heads just so they could forget? He would be doing all of us a favor.

I'll bet it's just live action Dora against a blue screen ala 'Blue's Clues'. There's no way the budget would allow for REAL CG elements (Boots, Swiper, Map, etc) all the way through a 90 minute movie.
