This is the talkback thread for "Delgo": Wasted Potential.

I kind of wish this movie were better than it was. Having genuinely good indie animation hitting the mainstream is something I can get behind. Just not when it sucks.

Yeah. Malcolm McDowell and Michael Clarke Duncan, too.

I had a feeling this wouldn't do well from the very first moment I saw those awful character designs. It's a shame, because a movie like this done correctly could be fantastic, but it sounds like they botched it in almost every way.

Yeah, I couldn't get past the horrible character designs to even bothering caring about this movie. It was destined to fail.

Those designs certainly are hideous. But the lead casting choices made me lol. Considering how badly they did it was quite obvious the intent behind casting them was to attract an audience with celebrity voices. (Which obviously failed.)

The sad thing was that those celebrities were hardly A-list material. Looking at the names, they all scream "washed-up." Don't get me wrong, I love Burt Reynolds and Malcolm McDowell, but there's no question they're at the very end of their ropes.

I never saw Delgo (but, I bet it will be good), but maybe you could of been mistaken for "Shark Tale" or "Igor" (those 2 fail in my opinon.

I haven't seen the movie myself, but I don't think that I want to after reading the review. It's a good review though. From the sounds of the first scene, it feels like this movie had some nice potential at the beginning, but it just falls apart after that scene. Too bad since it could have done better if it worked with its storyline some more and possibly had better voice actors for the characters.
