Toon Zone Talkback - "Code Geass" Episodes On Bandai's YouTube Channel

This is the talkback thread for "Code Geass" Episodes On Bandai's YouTube Channel.

This is pretty sweet. I didn't find out about this until today, but apparently they've been uploading episodes for a few months now.

No Gundam just yet, but it's supposed to be soon. I'm glad they're getting in on this, hopefully they'll use this to pitch some of their lesser known stuff too. They'd do very well to stream an episode or two of Sola and True Tears, for example.

I wonder if Bandai's been struggling with Code Geass a bit. Their commercial in front of Sword of the Stranger featured clips from Haruhi, Gurren, Gundam, Lucky Star, etc. but no Geass.

I'm glad Bandai's getting in on this to, maybe this could help them re-release some of their older titles (i.e. Saber Marionette, Candidate for Goddess aka Pilot Candidate, Tsukikage Ran, etc.)

Unless they have something like subtitled original (i.e., 1979) Mobile Suit Gundam, or something not currently airing on TOON's late-night block, I'm not interested (FWIW though, I will check out the channel...).

"We are unable to show you the original featured video for this channel due to age or location restrictions. "

WTF region lock??? Thanks a lot Bandai .

I don't think so. The Code Geass episodes have only been uploaded for a week now.

Man, looking at their banner for their main YouTube page...

...it's like they're trying to turn me off from this series.

Well, it's their legal right to choose who and who does not view their property.

EDIT: I'm watching episode four now...and truthfully the first was pretty confusing. I think the series is introducing a whole lot quite quickly and it sort of becomes hard to keep up with. That and Lelouche is annoying.

It gets less confusing later on. And this is the type of series where you gotta think about what is happening, this series won't just throw a flash back at ya to understand a situation.

And trust me you will learn to like Lelouch a lot soon enough.

There's absolutely no excuse for them not making these streams available in Canada. They control the property for all of Region 1, all of North America equally. No other company has even touched the broadcasting or streaming rights to the series in Canada, so there's no threat of conflict or competition. There's no risk of Canadians providing excessive bandwidth on YouTube of all websites.

There's no way they can be defended for this. This can be attributed to laziness on the part of Bandai and nothing else.

For some of the english episode previews, at least from R2 (the previews at the end of the season 1 they are playing, seem to be like I remeraber them watching the original) are not the same as it was originally?

Anyone know the reason?

I can't watch those episodes either, at least not without jumping through a couple of hoops.

Not exactly a good move on Bandai's part, but those who can watch should feel fortunate.

I believe those previews were from a Japanese streaming service and apparently they're also on the R2 DVRAB.
