This is the talkback thread for "Cheech and Chong's Smokin' Animated Movie" Rights Acquired.

It’s being reported that an animated movie is being created for Cheech and Chong, though its financier is still contemplating whether or not it will go straight to DVD or receive a theatrical release. I expect the production value to be through the roof!

Never mind.

What are your thoughts on this?

This would bomb harder than the Golden Compass if this gets a cinematic release. It looks like a cheaply-made webtoon IMVHO.

But if it's so cheaply made, then it would make a profit even if it made $1 million or so, unlike TGC, which cost somewhere between $180 million and $230 million to make and only made $70 million back in returns stateside.

True. I mean, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie made a profit at the box office, even though it only made $5.5 million(including a $1 million deduction to pay Boston).

Okay, that may've been a poor choice of words on my part, but it's possible it could make less than Delgo by looking at how the 2 characters in that picture above were designed.
