Toon Zone Talkback - "Bob's Burgers" Joining Fox TV Lineup

I find it odd that they're giving Loren Bouchard a chance to make a pilot. I mean his solo projects tend to sort of be failures, like how Saddle Rash was never picked after it's pilot. And Lucy Daughter Of The Devil only got one season on Adult Swim. I mean I know the Fox Executives known that Adult Swim is popular and have some connection with the creative staff, but why pick Bouchard to make them a pilot? Then again a star showing John Benjamin is at least a show that's trying, so this may be worth a shot. I feel kind of bad I never gave "Sit Down Shut Up" a fair shot even though this will probably join it in the Fox Animated shows that only last one season list.

I actually thought that Sit Down, Shut Up was pretty funny, but obviously, SDSU didn't do well enough in it's initial 2 weeks to stay part of FOX's Animation Domination lineup. Sadly, this means that FOX will never break out of this dysfunctional family groove that it's been stuck in ever since the successes of The Simpsons and Family Guy. Bob's Burgers just sounds like another Dad, Mom and their 3 kids animated comedy, only with the father's job at a burger place as it's chief distinction, and honestly, the burger thing sounds kind of tacked on.

Wonder if Napoleon Dynamite: TAS will premiere the same night.

This seems like a pretty interesting concept for a series, and it'll hopefully last a while. Looking forward to it.

Everyone should go into this show expecting it to fail. Then if it does succeed everyone can just be pleasantly surprised. Personally, I don't think it's got a chance.

I completely agree. I expect both Bob's Burgers, as well as Napoleon Dynamite:TAS, to crash and burn and to be removed from FOX's prime-time lineup after a month. Two months at the most, and I wouldn't mind being proven wrong on this, because that would mean that there'd be a chance of more animated comedies on FOX that aren't Simpsons and Family Guy clones.
