I'm definitely getting Gundam 00. Freedom is also a sure buy. I suppose I should reorder parts 1 and 2 and have Rightstuf drop the complete collection that might take forever to come.
I'm still having a hard time understanding how Hayate the Corabat Butler is the same price as Gundam 00. Hayate part 1 has seven sub-only episodes and basically no extras. Gundam 00 part 1 has nine episodes with a dub track.
I know, but that fact only goes so far. It's like this with Ghost Slayers Ayashi too. If you're not going to offer a dub, it makes sense to compensate with a lower price. That's fair and good business. Compared to Bandai's A-list titles and what FUNimation sells for similar prices, it's not competitive pricing at all these days. I don't know who would go for those titles if one were not already a major fan somehow.
It's more about Bandai Entertainment in general, at least these days, since they're essentially delaying everything...the stuff that's not selling well, quality aside, seems to get canceled outright instead of just delayed.
Still, I should probably keep myself busy by ordering the first Gundam 00 set now that some people are already getting it.
Yeah, Bandai seems to be having problems lately. But there are quite a few other series more in risk of being cancelled. And for Code Geass to be the second best property for Bandai, (according to the top 10 anime properties), I think it'll be safe. The only thing that could happen would be Bandai going bankrupt, but I don't see that coming soon, hopefully.
Hmm... I'm considering getting Gundam 00, but I have to save money up first.
Well, they're going ahead with titles like Sola and True Tears, so it's not as bad as that. Geass actually sells very well as shown by IcV2's top 10 list for Q1 2009, so that's not the reason for the delay. They do have issues getting their stuff out lately though, that's for sure.
