Toon Zone Talkback - Anime Midstream Announces "Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh" Vol. 1

Yeah, the shock that something like this is getting a dub when uncut Go-Lion (the basis for Voltron) didn't is a shocker. I wish these guys the very best of luck too, especially with the singles model, but they're going to need to pick up something more relevant if they want to stay in business.

Wait, what do you mean by ODEX dub? Do you mean that there aren't as people as say, a FUNimation dub? Considering the fact that ODEX hasn't dubbed or released anything on DVD in two years, it's an odd comment to make :P

ODEX is a studio based in Singapore, Geneon's commissioned them for work in the past. Most of the time, though, ODEX does work for Animax and releases English language versions of a lot of anime in the East Asia theater.

ODEX's work when it does reach the United States has not exactly been praised, hence the "even if" part.

Believe it or not, though, Singapore's official language is English so their work isn't "ESL"-like but it's still not that great.

I think I should know about ODEX, considering I interviewed half of their vocal cast in 2008 and still talk to some of the people who used to work there. The link for those IS in my signature :P My comment was based on the fact they aren't a business that dubs anymore, how can it be an ODEX dub, espically considering it was made in America? Is he trying to suggest it was a bad dub just based on the principle? A small cast doesn't always mean a bad product

I don't know where Weatherman got his information from that ODEX produced the dub. Perhaps the assumption is there because Anime MiRABtream probably wanted it dubbed on the cheap and ODEX isn't/wasn't that expensive.

I'd place my bets on it being dubbed in New York or Texas. Then again the company's based in St. Louis so it could be dubbed there or even in Chicago, though since I live near Chicago I'd probably know about it if it was.

Singles == shooting themselves in the foot. I'd love to say otherwise, but hoping that an obscure mecha series will launch your company when the competition can put 6 shows in the same shelf space is not a great idea. I do hope it works out, because there are gems to be brought out that no one else is touching, but I'll be shocked if the singles model pans out for them.

It's nice to wish the best of luck, but when some of the biggest companies have died recently, and some of the few left will probably follow soon, there's no way a new company can be successful when their only release so far is one obscure show that's almost two decades old and is being released in singles. Also, why the hell is it being released on a Wednesday?

I'm pretty sure the dub was done in St. Louis using local talent. They held auditions at the local Con and the website used to have a link with info if you wanted to send them an audition tape. As far as I know everything involving the dub never left the St. Louis area.

wow...a mech anime from 91...deffinantly buying! but 5 eps, man, they better rethink this singles thing & do 13 ep releases for there next show.
