Toon Zone Talkback - Animated Programming Emmy Nominations Revealed

Let's be honest: the last year of "South Park" was, to put it charitably, uneven. Thank goodness they submitted one of the better ones. I do hope it wins.

Who would the voting judges be for 'Outstanding Animation'? Would it be the animation worker peer group or all the voting judges at large? Because I'm thinking that if it were other animation industry people they'd probably vote based more on technical merits, which would undoubtedly increase the chances of Avatar winning. If it's all the Emmy voters together then they'd concentrate more on what made them laugh the most, which from all your reactions would probably be South Park.

Unless they're the kind of people who are only interested in the 'big' categories and tick the Outstanding Animation boxes on auto-pilot, which would easily give The Simpsons the vote, but here's hoping they take their televisual civic duty seriously.

Both incredible Simpsons and South Park episodes.

I'm pulling for South Park, purely because season 10 is my favorite season and that's one of the best episodes in it.

But I wouldn't mind if The Simpsons won. This was a pretty good episode.

Came across this thing...somewhere. It's an internet poll site covering pretty much anything awards-related. While I'm fairly certain it's so heavily skewed it's not even funny ("Make Love, Not Warcraft" comes fourth for some retarded reason), the results may be instructive as to where the winds have shifted, popularity-wise.

Of course, internet fad-dom should have little appreciative effect on the voting judges (which is a good thing too), but even ignoring its relevance to the Emmys it's an interesting poll in itself, wouldn't you say?

Well, I finally saw "Make Love, Not Warcraft". While I don't think it was their strongest episode, it had some funny moments, like staying in the woods and killing the boars for days straight to build up their strength points, and Cartman sloppily crapping into a pan. Yeah it was a gross poop joke but what can I say? It was hilarious the way it started out nice and clean and then... not so much. And Cartman's mom didn't even mind.

I also like the repeated line: "How can you kill something which has no life?!"
