Toon Zone Talkback - "Alvin" Sequel Slated for 2010

With all this popularity (I've been avoiding seeing the film) I've wondered why they haven't put the TV show on DVD. If nothing else, that would be my highlight to this whole thing.

If you mean the 80s Alvin and the Chipmunks series, a DVD for the show is most likely being delayed due to the fact that the Chipmunks regularly sang copyrighted top 40 hit songs in every episode, meaning that the shows' producers would likely have to pay the artists (or their record labels or their estates, if the original artists have since passed on) in order to have the songs on the DVDs.

Okay, but wouldn't airing them on TV somewhere be good for ratings or does the copyright issue extend to airings.

At the very least, I'd think that Toon Disney would be the best place to air the show since they air those Halloween themed films.

WHAT? But wh--oh wait, just remembered, 20th Century Fox tend to do these things all the time. I mean, look at Garfield 2 and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Dang, where did Murdoch go wrong?
