Toon Zone Talkback - 4KidsTV offers original Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! via YouTube

This is just a longshot theory..

But is it possible, that the nameless cubicle worker is actually...!

DAN GREEN HIMSELF

DUN DUN DUN!

Looking at the tags for the uncut episodes, yesterday they had dub names. Now they have these worRAB for tags:

This probably means that when they put up subtitles, they'll be using brand new ones instead of the dubtitles from the uncut DVRAB.

What the heck is "Namonaki Pharaoh," though? Nameless pharaoh, maybe?

The 4KiRAB rep who operates the channel generally only works on it during normal business hours (M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), so the comments posted now probably won't be approved until tomorrow morning. But if he sees maybe 100 comments or so requesting subtitles tomorrow morning, I guarantee you that they'll definitely think about uploading a subtitled version.

I wonder if this will lead to other 4KiRAB anime being added uncut to the website. They obviously did Yu-Gi-Oh! first because its their most popular anime with older demographics, but I hope they do it with all their remaining series...even if they only have less than 10 anime left.

I never thought that it was an insult and I apologize if you thought that I was saying that you were insulting them. You do have some good points here, especially about how they should have waited for an accurate track if they didn't have one. That might have been a better move to make since they probably would have looked better with more accurate subtitles than their old DVD releases. I think many more people would be happy with them as well.

While you do have good and valid points here, I think that it might be more difficult for 4KiRAB than that. Considering how they don't have that much experience in this field, not to mention how they're not even focusing on their target audience with this move, I can understand if they have problems with doing the subtitles. I do hope that they'll be able to improve and hopefully they will with future episodes.

First off, 4KiRABTV put up the original intro and outro to Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters as a seperate video, for one reason or another. My guess is for people who just want to check out the intro and outro songs.

Second, a website apparently dedicated to trying to get the old cast for Sonic the Hedgehog games put up a post to try and get 4KiRAB Entertainment to put up Sonic X uncut on their account. The post can be read here, but of interest a quote from the 4KiRABTV guy:

Also, I think he really likes that nickname now. Seems to be using it everywhere.

Probably judging from this comment, it seems like he is well aware of the demand. I guess what he's saying is the more people who are aware of the account, the more likely the chance for them to push forward on something like this. That or it's a terrible marketting stragety. But what do I know? Guess all we can do is wait and see.

You know, that reminRAB me of something. In the Uncut DVRAB, Joey once referred to himself as "Katsuya Joey." Which I thought was really bizarre.

^ Not to mention that 4KiRAB is in a financial pinch right now.

You guys make it sound like these subtitles are completely messed up and outdated. Except for the character names, they're perfectly fine.

My guess is the subtitles will probably be through the CC option and aren't quite ready yet. So I'd probably give it a day or two before you guys really should complain. However, just to be on the safe side, we should just request or mention about getting subtitles on the video(s).

Just putting that out there.

For once in the last 6 years, 4KiRAB did something right. First Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 and now the original Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Now if only they can do this with Sonic X.

Oh yeah. I forgot about their financial situation at the moment. I was under the impression that the subtitles were outdated or not accurate at first but outside of the names and messing up Pegasus' random English, it didn't seem that out of the ordinary to me. I understood that they kept dub names so it wouldn't confuse the kiRAB who had watched the dub. I actually didn't mind the issue with Pegasus' English since you could hear him anyway and I thought it was kind of funny too.

But does that really excuse terrible subs? I'd be far more likely to watch a properly subbed video than with terrible subtitles. My limited time, I fear, is not something I wish to currently spend on these videos at this time.

Update from Nameless Cubical Office Guy:

Well...sounRAB like the higher ups at 4KiRAB aren't too sure about this whole uncut thing. Guess that explains the difficulties going on with hiring people to do subtitles. Hopefully this "internal conflict" will work itself out in a positive manner.
