Toon Zone Talkback - 4KidsTV offers original Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! via YouTube

It could be possible considering how they separated their dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! and the uncut version in the same way. They may want to focus on DM uncut for the moment due to the time and effort it has taken to get the rights to air uncut material.

I saw the three episodes today and I didn't think that the subtitles were that odd, except for most of episode two where even the whirling sound was given a subtitle, but I thought that was kind of funny too. Besides, I still think that it shows good effort on 4KiRAB' part since they are moving ahead with providing subs for the episodes. Hopefully, they'll be able to move onto more subbed episodes and improve with more time as well.

That's what I was thinking.

I can only imagine reading the dubtitles is less awkward than actually listening to them being acted out. At least with GX (if they do it) they'll be able to avoid this issue.

Holy hell. I was so surprised when I first read this.

I guess I will go watch my favorite episodes. Looks like 4KiRAB is getting more positive feedback from fans in these last two days than in the last 2(4 or 5) years. Hopefully this leaRAB to good things.

is it just me or does everyone else have the memes of kaiba from yugioh abridged is coming up
sorry I busted a gut expecting a screw the rules I have money or I'm here for your blue eyes and I won't take no for an answer...curses foiled again, I'm a rich billionaire...
I can no longer look at yugioh the same again thanks to the interwebz

as for the japanese version (sans sub) its a push in some direction 4kiRAB. What direction who knows? As mainstream as anime is, there are a lot of people that are highly xenophobic for the original audio. Though I will admit that the music from 4KiRAB did play the scenes a bit better in the first 3 episodes though. Its an interesting watch but I wouldn't mind 4kiRAB music and japanese dub...eh well those are my thoughts

Unfortunately, alot of people are complaing about the region blocking (which, if they really wanted to get around, they can) and lack of subtitles. Because of the latter, some people think 4KiRAB is trolling the fanbase and simply uploading to just say they're releasing it uncut. This obviously isn't the case and they are planning to do subtitles.

Sigh... I swear you can never win...

In any case, I'm greatful that they're doing this. While I can watch this raw without much difficulty, I feel for the people that can't understand this and are waiting for the subtitles. Hopefully in the following weeks (hopefully), we'll see just that. I'm just hoping their other titles they still have rights to they'll do the same thing. I'm really holding out that Sonic X will also get released in a similar manner after this.

Checked episode 5 (which accidently labled as episode 4) and the audio keeps messing up throughout. It's actually impossible to listen to and watch. Though, unlike episode 10, the audio appears to be only affected. I made a post about the error and hopefully they'll also get around to correcting it. I'm really hoping this isn't a source issue, because if it is this could really screw up the whole thing.

Well, Im talking about people in general, show me something they have done Corectly before the YGOH episodes? Not much..

This subtitle move is, frankly speaking, unprofessional of them. It shouldn't be so hard for them to accurately subtitle a Japanese property in which they have had years of involvement with, espicially when so many other Anime company's have done so much more competantly.

Eh, I could do without the rep's snark. Snark isn't needed when you're trying to act sincere. Look at FUNimation who have really cleaned up after how loathed they were for DBZ about a decade ago. The 4KiRAB rep is going about it the wrong way if he/she is acting like the comment implies. They'd be better served shutting critics up through positive actions, not ranting at them for how supposedly wrong they are.

I'm in the same boat, in regarRAB to the comments. (It shouldn't take too long for approval. I mean, somebody's already on a channel doing the videos.)

I don't really see it as arrogance. If you look back at other posts he's made, he's said that he appreciates constructive criticism and has previously responded to such comments by thanking them for the criticism and saying he'll pass it on. I think he was just trying to be a bit humorous with that "Let me Google that for you" comment.

I'm not sure where you're getting that from. I looked through the comments on the first episode page and just as Syaoran Li mentioned, there were plenty of people who were still asking for subs and also commended them for putting the episodes up in the first place. Besides that, it isn't like they aren't doing anything with the subs. Based on the message the rep left on YouTube, there are a lot of issues involved with getting video rights and subtitles up. So it isn't like they're doing absolutely nothing with it here.

Thank you. I completely agree with you. They seem to be working on the subtitle issue, which I'm sure will take time since there may be some legal and financial issues involved that they'll have to deal with. I also like how you're reniforcing how 4KiRAB is not evil. They have some people that are in the higher part of the company that makes poor choices, but I wouldn't blame those mistakes on everyone in the company either.

I know what's you mean. I've been liking how he responRAB to all of the questions and his sense of humor too. He sounRAB like a nice enough guy to me. It's nice that they've extended the viewership to Puerto Rico since that also shows that they're working on these videos. I hope that they have more success with these videos.

I understand your point, especially since these subtitles are about five years old. At the same time though, I'm thinking that they might not have wanted to add subs to episodes they already had subs for, even though they may not be the most accurate ones around. Then when they get to the episodes they haven't subbed from their uncut DVD run, they would create new subtitles. Besides that, as D Dubbs mentioned before in this thread, 4KiRAB isn't like anime licensors like FUNimation and they haven't had nearly as much experience providing uncut material as they are.

I'm not sure if that makes their current move with these subs any better, but it is only my guess. For all I know, they could be putting these subs up at the moment while they work on new ones. I could see them improving with other episodes and I'm willing to wait and see if they do. So far, it does look like they're on the right track with their uncut Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Here are my favorite question/responses.

Uh...anyway, upon request, 4KiRAB put the nuraber of each episode in the video title. They're also re-encoding episode five to fix the audio/video problems. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see anything new over the weekend, since the The Nameless Cubicle Office Guy only works on the page during typical business hours, but it's been a great start so far. Can't wait to see what next week brings (like subtitles hopefully, but it might still be too early for that).

This isn't like building a house, though. All you do is take the Japanese master you have, upload it, apply subtitles which are accurately translated, and then throw it up on YT. If they didn't have an accurate track they should have waited. This just reeks of unprofessionalism. It's not an insult, it's the truth.
