Toon Zone Talkback - 3 Detained for "Kick a Ginger" Prank Possibly Imitating "South Park" Episode

This kinda thing happens a lot, but you usually don't hear much about it. I know a kid at my first school got a swirly the day after they did one on "The Wonder Years."

This isn't the show's fault, this is the direct fault of lazy parenting.

Children obviously can't understand underlying social commentary and of course are going to take the "Kill Gingers" message at face value and want to harass red-heads.

There are such things as V-Chips.

I think the description you're looking for is "'effed up," not "funny."

The gingers thing is a joke. It's not meant to be acted on.

And how long until soccer moms blame Trey Parker for this?
It's the fault of the kids for being so stupid, and the parents for doing such poor parenting. How old are they, anyway? "boys" would imply fairly young, so that makes me question why they're watching South Park.

Sadly, that never really makes a difference, especially in this day of easy access on the internet.

Reminds me of Rambo toys way back when. That was back before they were on TV, before the internet, possibly before it was in video stores. Yet they were basically marketing an extremely violent, R-rated movie to children?

This actually happened in my city and A.E. Wright is one of my local middle schools so I've heard a whole lot about this over the past month or so. Yes, I do blame South Park a little bit because it shows that it can influence kids to do really stupid things as most shows or video games can. Yes, probably bad parenting had a lot to do with it as well, but we could be way off on that. I've seen bad kids who seem to have really nice parents, they could just as easily be doing it because of their friends. So I mostly blame the kids themselves. I know that this started on Facebook but I never thought it was even remotely funny to begin with. And now this happened.

South Park isn't a babysitter though, it's not targeted towards children in anyway. It shouldn't be held responsible if it is something kids shouldn't be watching in the first place.
