Hmm, I enjoyed 10,000 days more than Opiate. I guess my order would be :

Aenima > Lateralus > Undertow > 10,000 Days > Opiate.

All the cd's are great though.

.

If you know the true meaning behind the main songs of 10,000 Days (Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days), then the CD and some APC songs (Judith) have a much larger emotional depth.

Why the shit are you all putting Undertow so low on your lists?!

Undertow > Lateralus > 10,000 Days > Aenima > Opiate

The songs on Aenima are decent, but the 'muddied' production sound I have come to dislike more and more over the years. Plus, Disgustipated > *

Most of the CD is about Maynard's mother. She had a stroke and lived extremely handicapped because of it for 27 years (10,000 days). The songs Jambi, Wings for Marie pt 1 and 10,000 Days (Wings pt 2) are about his mother going to Heaven and asking for her wings after living such a painful life and still having her faith. His mother was Judith Marie Keenan...apparently, Maynard sings about her a lot, both with Tool and APC (Judith)

Wings for Marie:

You believed
You believed in moments not conceived.
You believed in me.
A patient in spirit.
Uncompromise.
Without us in your heart.
A light in your eyes that
EnRAB all lies.

Vacant, broken
Fell at the hanRAB of
those moments that I wouldn't see
Cause you, you pray for me too.

What have I done to be a son to an angel?
What have I done to be worthy?

Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescence.
Difficult to see with this light.
Please forgive this selfish question, but
What am I to say to all these ghouls tonight?
She never told a lie.
Well might of told a lie
But never lived one.
Didn't have a life.
Didn't have a life,
But surely saved one.
Alright, now it's time for us to let you go.

10,000 Days lyrics clip:

"I only pray, Heaven knows when to lift you out.
Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough,
You're going home...
You're the only one who could hold your head up high,
Shake your fist at the gates saying,
I have come home now,
Fetch me the Spirit, the Son, and the Father.
Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.
It's time now, my time now,
give me my, give me my, wings."

Give me my wings!

You are the light and way, that they will only read about.

Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance,
Burden of proof tossed upon the believers.
You were the witness, my eyes, my evidence,
Judith Marie, unconditional one.

Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescence.
Difficult to see you in this light.
Please forgive this bold suggestion:
Should you see your Maker's face tonight,
Look Him in the eye, look Him in the eye, and tell Him:
I never lived a lie, never took a life, but surely saved one.
Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home."

Read the lyrics to Judith, Jambi, Wings for Marie, and 10,000 Days in that order and you'll see the pain that MJK held for his mother. Even after being delt a life like that, she prayed for and raised Maynard to the best of her ability.

I doubt that they are making fun of tool, probably just weren't creative enough to come up with something better.

As for my albums:

Lateralus is completely amazing while 10,000 Days is pretty damn good.

That was released months before 10,000 Days came out. I'm not backing up Disturbed, but it's hardly imitation. "10,000 Fists" refers to one of David Draiman's favorite moments during a concert on their tour to promote 'Believe.'

"10,000 Days" refers to Maynard's mother. The two titles are purely coincidental.

I absolutley love tool. Not long till i finally get to see them twice within a week of each other gonna be great. Does anyone have any idea of what their set lists are like on the recent tour??

im glad i did a search for this.
