Tool - 10,000 Days

Why should I state in my opinion? The lyrics are cliche, fact, monkey being used as a metaphor for man has been overdone the most recent example of this I can think of is "It's a Hit" by Rilo Kiley. Something being done a lot throughout lyrical history = cliche. That's not subjective, I stated my opinion intelligently and backed it up. Since it's my post it's implied it's my opinion.

i admire your optimism.

year zero was marginally just about alright. no fireworks or nothing. i'm amazed that anybody was able to force themselves to love it so much.

Haha... Ya all I hear out of RainardJalen is negativity, and its pretty damn annoying.

Instead of constantly hating on artists why not do something useful with yourself and recommend music and share banRAB that you find interesting etc. etc.

I think 10,000 Days is great, but it's still pretty disapointing after five years and that's what these great minRAB create. I honestly expected more. But still pretty good. I give it a 4/5.

I think Tool delivered a decent album with 10,000 days. the songs that count as songs I think are up there with the best of their older great tunes. their production is always top notch, and it felt to me as if they took this album a little less serious. Their live shows have got to be considered some of the greatest rock experiences since Floyd.

I think 10,000 days was pretty good, but not quite as good as aenima or lateralus. better than undertow, though. As it was with lateralus, it took me a few listens to fully apreciate it.

Wrong. It's a new direction for the whole band. That's why there's going to be people who love it, or people who think it's just garbage.

As I said before Ethan, your first post had no reason why you felt it was filler. Your second, and third, and even fourth might have. But not your first. Did we understand that now? And I'd be reacting this way had you posted this about any other band I like. And now you say you don't like the music, even if the lyrics are good. I thought you said your opinion of the lyrics were that they were bad? Either way, it's both my and your opinion. And Fal, when the Americans overthrew English rule, we threw the Brit's anal retentive style of perfect English out the window. Something I'm sure you noticed as well. Me using or misusing any word, is not relevant in a musical discussion. But if you two are telling me you both don't have the intelligence to understand what I was trying to get across, it was a: metaphor, anallogy, example, reason, something to get my point across. Get it now? I'm sure you did before, but hey, we all need to act like smartasses every once in a while. And that's not personal either. Note the "all".

hmm wellllll
i didn't read any of that.
But remember winning an argument on the internet is like the special Olympics, even if you win, you're still retarded.

Tool was good, for a listen. Not like i would **** all over them.

Well then, I'm glad that's settled. I would normally agree on the monkey matter being cliche, but the message they convey and the way that they wrote it, seems good to me. I have yet to hear another band compare man's warlike nature, to what happened in Eden. I'm not being biased because I'm a fan, I'm just acknowledging the overall song as a whole. Everyone has different opinions, and if we didn't, it would make discussions quite dull.

98 was a good year for TOOL, the release of lateralus and there great shows were impressive. they've had some great times in 07' especially when i got to see them live!
