Took Thyroid test and T3 was normal TSH normal, but T4 was low?

You probably are "Hypothyroid" which means you are low thyroid.

A low T4 with normal T3 and normal TSH usually means you are hypothyroid.

In developed civilized countries low thyroid due to an iodine deficiency is extremely rare. The majority of low thyroid problems are here hereditary, meaning the disease runs in your family. The majority of hereditary low thyroid (hypothyroidism) is called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Hashimoto's is when your body thinks your thyroid gland (located in your neck) is foreign and your immune system (your white blood cells) start to kill it off. Any condition in which the body's immune system attacks its own cells is called an auto-immune disease. The medical community at this time does not know what triggers the human body to start attacking itself so the actual cause of Hashimoto's is unknown. Hashimoto's is a very common disease, especially in women.

Treating a low thyroid with iodine can be harmful and actually make the condition worse. Do not self treat! If you want to use iodine supplements speak to your doctor first.

Low thyroid cannot be "cured" but it can be treated. Treatment is a prescription medication (pill) that you take every morning. I've been on Synthroid, Levothyroxine, Armour Thyroid and Nature-Throid. By far the two best medications are Armour Thyroid or Nature-Throid. I did not feel well on Synthroid or Levothyroxine. Armour Thyroid is hard to get right now because of a nationwide shortage. So ask your doctor to put you on Nature-Throid. Studies have shown that people have fewer symptoms and generally feel much better on Armour Thyroid or Nature-Throid than they do on Synthroid or Levothyroxine.

Having low thyroid it is not like a cold that will go away within a few days. Low thyroid once you get it you have it the rest of your life. But don't worry, the medication is very cheap. My prescription for 30 days is only $10.

But you must get it treated. Ignoring it will make you very sick and can cause life threatening problems. If hypothyroidism is left untreated, the classic physical changes characteristic of myxedema can develop (Myxedema is a condition characterized by swelling of the skin and other tissues, particularly around the eyes and cheeks, caused by extreme deficiency of thyroid hormone)—a round, puffy face with a sleepy appearance, dry rough skin, and loss of hair. Other later symptoms include a husky voice and numbness of the arms and legs. Muscle pain, weakness, and carpal tunnel syndrome may occur. Some people experience hearing loss, depression, mental confusion, uneasiness, daytime sleepiness, or memory problems, especially in the elderly. Obstructive sleep apnea, in which tissues in the upper airway collapse at intervals during sleep, thereby blocking the passage of air, is common. Myxedema coma is a life-threatening condition caused by long-standing hypothyroidism.

You could have hypothyroidism but best to call into Doctors office and talk to nurse about blood results or make Doctors apt and ask.
Usually pill fixes this but you may have to take rest of your life to replace
what your thyroid is not doing.
See your Doc,might help you feel less tired !
