Too sensitive lately

It's ironic that you say that because I tried to talk to him about my symptoms at my last appt. He looked at my McDonald's cup (since we had to stop and get lunch before the appt. and didn't have time to run home first.) He told me my sypmtoms were from the food I was eating.:eek: I told him that I don't eat out at all and that this was a fluke. I was in his office for less than 10 min. with an increased dose of the same fucking medicine. :rolleyes: I might just change to someone down here. Only problem is that now I can't do that for at least 3 months when I move back down for next year.
 
I think the best physician I've ever been too was a nurse practitioner. She was awesome (but her hands were a little cold). It has also been my experience that female doctors always seem to take a more personal approach with their patience. It must be that female empathy thing. I've had a few female doctors and I was always more at ease and felt better taken care of by them.
 
Actually, I'm the complete oposite. I feel very uncomfortable with female doctors. Male doctors seem to be more understanding and less pushy. They take a personal approach as well, at least the male doctors I have come across. I have seen over 100 different doctors, 90% of them being male, and I discovered that they actually listen to ME, the patient, not my mom or stepdad, but ME. What a concept! :eek:
 
Krisi, it sounds like you don't belong to an HMO. Perhaps that's the reason our experiences are so vastly different. The hospital I go to is mostly a stepping stone for doctors before they move on to more lucrative practices. I have to change doctors at least twice a year as they usually move on within 6 months.
 
What's an HMO?

I was "examined" by 86 doctors from all over the world when I was 8 years old and not one of them could give me a diagnosis other than MD. They're actually in the process of naming the type of MD that I have, because they haven't seen it before. Apparently.

But yeah, I'm not too fond of female doctors, nurses are not my favorite either. I always seem to get a new nurse, even though I've been with the same doctor for 13 years, and none of them seem to have read my damn file! It really irks me!
 
Krisi, an HMO is a Health Management Organization. Basically a big beaurocracy where your healthcare is decided by comittee rather than by your doctor. They kind of suck, but they're affordable.

Mags, you really need a new doctor. One that won't maake snap judgement, but will actually listen to what you're saying before he decides he knows what's best.
 
hmmmmmmmmmmmm i wonder if he means the docts comming out of med school. if so then i know a few down there. i've dragged them into the site before. if there is any questions i can drag em back again and you can ask em directly.
 
Funny, I have an HMO now, but also had a PPO. Both allowed pretty much the same docs (HMO's can suck - for things that are general needs and visits, they're only really worth it for extended hospital stays and procedures). I've had female and male and really both have their pros and cons, but I will say that nurse practitioners generally rock. They really listen and seem to care more and take more time with the patient. You typically can get in to see them a lot easier than the docs.
