I am prescribed a drug called fioricet because I headaches every day. Lately I have found myself in somewhat of a spiraling depression. Fioricet is an easy drug to get high off of. For those that do not know, it contains acetaminophen, caffeine, and butalibital (325mg, 40mg, 50mg, respectively). To make a long a story short I went a little...or highly overboard yesterday. I took 21 pills over an 8 hour period. The first 12 were taken in about 2 hours and the last of them were taken 6 hours later. I know that is nearly double the recommended daily dosage of acetaminophen. Yes, I know they say liver damage and what not. This was not an attempt at suicide, for the record. I don't know what to do. I feel alright, my stomach is a little gurgly but that's normal for me since it's morning. But this is the second time in 6 months I have done this. I am worried about what this will do to my liver. I take the meRAB daily but not in such a high amount. Actually I've had to take acetaminophen products (mostly OTC) for close to 10 years. How will I know if I have some crazy liver damage or not? How long does it take? Is it really worse than someone who drinks alcohol all of the time? I have a great girlfriend and a great family and I don't want them to know any of this. What should I expect in the next few days because of the pills?
