Has anyone else noticed that nearly all the films that are coming out this summer are sequels to something?

Do film-makers have no Imagination anymore?

xx

Indeed, in the last few years we seem to have an over ubandance of sequels, but msot of the highly successful films being released lately have been franchises, this means sequels (Spidey, Pirates, X-Men, Shrek...) They make money so they make more...sometimes it's a good idea, sometimes film makers need to know when to stop.

And if you think this summer is something, confirmed for future release are: "The Dark Knight", another Superman film.
Rumoured: X-Men 4, Spidey 4 and more Shrek.

Yeah.. youre right there...

Lets hope they learn and make original Interesting storylines.

Hey... I might just start going to the theatre instead :P

I think the studios are merely appealing to the market demand. People love these films, as seen with the $148 million Spiderman 3 brought in on its first WEEKEND of release.

More sequels to look forward to are:

Batman

Spiderman 4,5,6 - though I'll only go and see them if the original cast are in palce)

Magneto - with Sir Ian McKellan still in the main role (they're going to do the thing they did at the start of the last film)

Wolverine - looking back at how Wolverine was created

Shrek 4 - although it has been stated that this will be the last and will tie-up the films

The Borne Ultimatium

And on a childish note - TOY STORY 3!!!!!

More Pirates - disney say it is a possibility

Ocean's 13 this summer

Fantasic Four 2 - supposed to be a big improvement on the first dire film

Superman Returns... again

The Incredible Hulk - this time with Ed Norton

Ghost Rider 2 - why???

Hellboy 2 - WHY???

Iron Man

Ant Man

Captain America

Don't forget 'Live Free or Die Hard', 'Rambo: Eye of the Cobra', 'Terminator 4', 'Scary Movie 5', 'Final Destination 4', 'Species Quattro', the next few Harry Potter films, and oh, apparantly another Godzilla flick. ;)

:( I plead to all the producers/directors/story writers to try and inject some originality into their films!!!

I'm so sick of sequels/prequels/remakes/comic adaptations.

Its lazy, its selling out! I cant remember the last time I saw a truly original film at the cinema :(
