Too many people blame problems on ADD when they don't have it.

im not saying that some people have a better attention span that others, what im saying is that it is not a congenital uncurable condition that can only be suppressed with medication. the US is the only country that seams to have an ADD/ADHD epidemic. that's kind of weird IMO. i think it's a combination of the drug companies here trying to make money, and crappy parenting.

im mad at parents who just throw their kids on it to shut them up, and because of basically what giving kids the drugs to kids does. what pisses me off is this. i can't pay attention and i refuse to ever believe i have ADD, it's just a flaw i have. but none the less, how is it fair that billy who is stupider than me is getting the same grades only because he is on super drugs. it's like steroids in baseball (yes, i just made that analogy)

Crappy parenting? My ass. My brother DOES NOT HAVE ADHD and he was raised the same as me.

I'm letting you know this now - telling someone WITH ADHD what is really is ain't different than telling a gay person it was a choice to be gay. Why? Because you haven't walked in their shoes.

That said, :mfinger: yourself and have a nice day.

...

You wish. I'd flunk right out of school without medicine.

Why?

I literally cannot focus on paperwork.

I even have trouble with Sonic 2, I did today and I forgot to take my meds.

There's a difference between "performance enhancing" and "performance creation" in my mind, because I have 0% performance to begin with when I give it my all.

Performance enhancing are the fucking college kids who pop Adderalls to cram for exams, and the "performance creation" guys are people like me who actually need this shit to function during everyday lives and no matter what they've done over the years, can't mentally create coping strategies because guess what? It's biological.

There's a huge drive there, I just cannot focus on it and my mind drifts.

But for now, I shall fap off and rest in eternal slumber.

ADD and it's older tougher brother ADHD are real, but the number of cases of it are so Unbelievable, Ungoldy, and in all other ways OVER DIAGNOSED, that it makes me pissed at the whole thing. If you really have it take your meds, we all have problems, don't use it as an excuse. Everyone on earth (baring Jesus comin' back, Yo! Jesus in the hizzouse!) has problems that effect them all the time. So fucking what. I say no special treatment.

Unless of course Americans are mutating their babies, because it seems America is overrun with ADD. Nowhere else is overrun, but here the mutants come out! HOOAH! Too bad there aint no cool X-Men like mutants, nope they're ADD and double X Chromosome people. Oh yeah and don't forget the people who die if exposed to sunlight for more than a couple minutes. Sheesh!

I agree with you on that to an extent, but on Long Island not many kids have ADHD :gay:. Of course, other demographics may be different, and maybe this is why I'm such a defensive asshole prick about it .

Yeah, I do think it is overdiagnosed, but there are people like me who do have it legitimately. See me laugh enough off my Cylert and I'll become "Hyper Descent," with all seven Choas Impulses I'm unstoppable. By then you'll believe it's real.

That could be kind of fun...we'll stick a saddle on your back and ride you around like Mario does to Yoshi. You got a long tongue? Can you poop eggs? I'll buy the turtles, you build the cage and entrance. We'll charge 50 bucks for a half hour ride and make a fortune!

It's pretty simple really.

There are people that actually have it.

There are the ones that just have to have an excuse when they "forget".

There are Doctors that guess. (And MUST make you believe they know what their talking about, regardless if they're clueless.)

90% of ADD/ADHD Americans come from the last two.

Then there's me. I don't give a fuck if you have it or not. :happysad:

That's rediculous. I have ADHD (supposidly. I'm not sure I believe the quack.) But I get my homework done, I sit during lectures. I do all those things and I do pretty well. But I do get jittery and I do have more trouble listening the longer I sit there. Even if it is interesting. I'm not on medication for it. I don't know that I believe in medicating it unless it's horrible. I think that too many people just blame all thier absent mindedness on ADD but they haven't been diagnosed with it. I also think that doctors are too quick to call someone ADD and try to medicate them. When I was "diagnosed" all the quack did was watch me for a few minutes. That's it. I didn't do any tests or fill out a long questionaire. He just sat and looked at me for a bit. Well, when the room is quiet and it's you and this old guy that you've never met before, of course you're going to be jittery and shit. (Although, apparently I was told that I sat like a stone. See, this doesn't make sense to me.) Anyway, I think WAY too many people hide behind this mask of ADD. If you have a really bad case of ADD, such as Descent, well then I completely agree with medication. But I think that people need to take more time before they say someone has it.

Just want to say one thing which will probably turn into a few things. I'm pretty sure I have ADD but haven't been diagnosed. I'm not on any medication. I have a VERY VERY VERY short attention span as you guys probably notice by reading my posts and honestly though some people find it cute and quirky it is slightly debilitating. I can't read a book like everyone else, it effects the music I write, it effects a lot of things. Doesn't make it bad, just different and sometimes incomplete.

It sucks.

second point i forgot to make which pisses me off. if a kid has ADD and is on meds then having ADD shouldn't be a fucking excuse, not that it should ever be an excuse in the first place
