Too many choices

OK, I currently use a T610 with a legacy AT&T SIM and it works well.

What I would like to know, is what is out there in the candy bar form factor that is at least tri-band (maybe quad), has BT and Edge (Seems to be much better than GPRS), and will work on the former AT&T, now Cingular, soon to be AT&T GSM network?

The Sony Ericsson w810i has all of the things you said and will work with your GSM Sim Card. The thing is that the w810i didn't come out yet. Other then Sony Ericsson (which I think you would prefer since your using a SE currently right?) the Nokia 6230,Nokia 6230i,Nokia 6680,Nokia 6681 and Nokia N70 will do. And by the way I got all these from GSMARENA. I narrow it down to only your prefrences as in REQUIRED BLUETOOTH,EDGE and TRIBAND.

hey there
why don't you tell us your budget and if you plan to sign contract for a locked phone or want ot buy an unlocked one. Is battery life very important to you?
You really like sony ericsson phones?

My most recent phone was a Motorola V600. What a POC! Stopped working within weeks. Went back to my T61x. I also have an old T68i somewhere.

I find that I prefer the bar phone to a flip and that the size of the T61x is about right for me.

Locked vs unlocked? Usually not worth the premium to get unlocked for my use.

Battery life? I've had phones that wouldn't last the day on standby. Obviously, that won't do!

What I'm really looking into the the differences between GPRS and EDGE.

I currently have a legacy AT&T MMode 8MB data and a nationwide voice plan. Should be interesting to see what happens with my AT&T plan with Cingular likely going back to AT&T...

And I have a PDA and do not yet want a converged device; prefer having my phone and PDA separate still. But since I do have the PDA, I don't really need a MP3 player in my phone. A camera? Seems like I almost have to have one in my phone these days, but prefer using a 8-10MP DSLR and having a choice of lenses.
