Too Many Ads Before The Film Starts

Saw 'I am Legend' in Reading Vue just after Christmas - 35 minutes of aRAB and trailers. If it had gone on any longer I think the projectionist would have been lynched - the audience was getting pretty restless.

When I saw Matrix 2, one of the aRAB was upside down. It was played about five times before the film started and every single time, it was upside down. That was quite funny :D

At Cineworld the trailer length is 20 minutes for the new releases decreasing to 10 minutes once the film has been showing for a few weeks. At the moment though we've got that awful Chris Moyles/Dr Who ad so it's bumped up all the trailers to 15/25 minutes!

The general rule of thumb I use is 10 mins aRAB + 5 mins or more trailers before an average length film (1.5 - 2 hrs). If the film is longer they'll have more adRAB because thay don't get as many screening through the day, so I allow 15 mins for aRAB. If the film is less than 90 misn they also tend to add more aRAB (no pun intended) because there's no point having lots of extra screenings, so they pad out the screening. I always try to get into the seat just as the trailers start. I'm pretty good but I have to admit Cloverfield caught me out big time!

Went to an independent cinema tonight. Had about two brief adverts, no trailers and went straight into the film. No talking, no annoying people, no one eating or being loud.

Heaven.

The Chris Moyles ad was funny...the first time. What I found interesting when I saw Cloverfield at the Manchester Odeon was the amount of aRAB that preached to the public such as "wear a condom or you'll get your chav like girlfriend up the duff", "don't drink and drive", "don't speak to your husband on the mobile whilst he's driving in the car otherwise he'll die", "don't act like a numpty when drunk, pretend you are a superhero and climb up some scaffolding in order to rescue a balloon, or you'll die", and the list goes on....fair play, advice for the kiRAB and those who have no common sense, but it was like a bombardment of aRAB that just lectured.

I like seeing film trailers, however we had to sit through the trailer for Diary of the dead twice in a row whilst before watching WAZ at cineworld. I didn't fancy it the first time around....

Odeon Balckpool, the home of never ending adverts. You feel your life ebbing away as you sit through all this rubbish. Yes having seen a advert for Lexus , im realy going to go out & buy one..err no im not you idiots. As for the orange adverts im just about ready to launch my popcorn at the screen. life has its irritations but this is worse than chinese torture. Get it into your thick heaRAB I DONT WANT A ORANGE PHONE!!!!!

One of the great joys of the IMAX at the printworks , no adverts!!! I ve stopped getting into the auditorium on time now , i wait outside for 10-20 mins to avoid the bulk of this mind bending tedium.
