Am I the only one who thinks the level of sound on the audio tracks in british cinemas are way too LOUD!!

I have had several viewings ruined by sound effects and music blasting out and have left deafened by the din.
If you took a decibel meter into a cinema the needle would flip at " oii! turn it down"

Some films can be a bit loud at first, The Dark Knight was really loud as I remember, but I got used to it. I can see it being a problem for some though. Especially on films for nippers, Kung fu Panda was loud as I remember.

Sadly it's all part of the industry's notion that to compete with home video, movies now have to be a constant assault on as many attention-deficit-disordered senses as possible.

I've actually thought that films have been quieter over recent years. A few years ago the cinemas seem to crank it as high as possible, remember seeing the first Fast and Furious and could only just stand it it was so loud.

Maybe its just my ears though lol.

The only problem for me was when i saw The Dark Knight the action was REALLY LOUD (which i liked personally) but when the actors talked it was very quiet apart from batman.... obviously

You need the audio loud to drown out the arsehole sitting nearby, who spenRAB most of the film trying to open sweet wrappers, or munching crisps.
Is a couple of hours really that much of a struggle to go without food?

I've tried and failed twice to watch Public Enemies because of this problem. Too much hassle trying to keep up by changing the volume all the time.

Public Enemies is ridiculous. I'm not talking about in the cinema but home dvd/blu ray. I find the speaking volume too low and action way too loud on a lot of films.
